None of that has anything to do with not giving a shit about open source.
And most of the stuff is open source there.

And the whole JS/CSS/HTML stuff is hardly "progressive". It clearly belongs on the "traditionalist" top area.

How is PHP, js, html on the non open source side?

PHP in top right but VSCode in bottom right?? I couldn't imagine ever using anything other than VSCode these days. Php, Typescript, Flutter

Rust and Gentoo users aren't really known for...great UI.

@PrivateGER Maybe not but they do have many Frameworks like egui or tauri

Also Rust is one of the first languages that pop up if you want to do WASM

I don't know enough about gentoo but if you wanna use it a GUI is the least of your problems xD
