you are allowed.
they'll sue you into oblivion regardless. because money rules over law, if you have enough of it. -
b2plane63892y@spongessuck @tosensei @Demolishun @localpost @electrineer @CoreFusionX its a serious question btw. The app has NOTHING to do with apple. Its literally just an independent app and i think a name in such format would fit well. But it bothers me because ive never seen anyone name a product or service like that other than apple

@b2plane
For real, don't know
IANAL, but chances are that while they can't trademark "i*", they could try to press a case, specially if it's something IT related.
And if course, they can always resort to their usual bullying tactics. -
@b2plane Do you have the money to defend yourself in a trademark infringement case with Apple? Do you want to deal with Apple at all?
-
No serious company would do that since it would make their product sound like a piece of crap.

Big companies have managed to patent/trademark seemingly arbitrary things like Boeing using 7**, Peugeot using *0* and Porsche using 9**.
Do you definitely have to have a name that may infringe on a patent/trademark? Do you want to take that risk? Do you have the funds to fight it if they find out?
Am i allowed to name an app/project starting with lowercase "i"?
E.g.
iDriveCar
iPoopShit
iEatFood
Etc...
Or has this been patented by Apple so only they can name words in such format?
