Some advice would be greatly appreciated: I have an app on the play store that currently is free with ads, and an in app purchase to remove the ads. Is there a better way of trying to get people donating or should I go overboard with the ads (something I am very hesistant to do)

App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...

IMO even a single small ad somewhere where it can be constantly seen is enough to make most people buy the app. Take Pinger's TextFree app for example.

You don't want to pester people who cant afford to remove ads. (If so, they might go somewhere else) But something as simple as that will still make most people buy the app that can afford it.

@Cyanite that's what's I currently have, but of 500 active monthly users no one has paid to remove ads

500 is a very low number tbh. And have you made it obvious that they can pay to remove ads?
Try occasionally replacing ads with your own ad saying "Remove ads for only $X now!" try making ads slightly (but not dramatically) larger.

@Cyanite the option is in the main menu, but that's a good idea

I'm not much into F1 racing, so I'm not sure what "setups" is all about, but you currently have a very small customer base, and those in-app purchases are pretty steep. Have you thought about adjusting your pricing? A small fee to get rid of ads, and an additional small fee per item? Also, you need to provide teases; give the customer a reason to spend their money on your app. Pique their curiosity.

@iAmNaN I've tried with multiple prices, made no difference. Charging per item won't work, it's a sharing community where people post their own setups and stuff

@DevTard I was wondering, because the description implies per item, suggesting more than one purchase is involved.

@iAmNaN that's just how google shows in app purchases, as technically you can purchase it more than once

@hube problem with having one at the bottom is that they are not on screen meaning I get no money from them, defeating the purpose

@DevTard @hube or do you mean do the same as other screens?

@hube It's "Tires" not "Tyres", is the app?

@Cyanite Tyres is the correct spelling in this context (all labels and spelling is coming directly from the game)

    Ahh okay.

    Edit:
I assumed maybe you were not native to english.
