Got fired for asking for a restructuring of the workload and/or more non-foreign, in-office devs. I was the only dev for dozens of projects.

😭 I have never felt so connected to a rant on here until now.

I haven't been fired, but they certainly told me, "being the sr you signed up for this."

You're right, I did sign up for this, and now I'm seriously considering rescinding my signature.

Sorry if circumstances mean this is bad for you.

Otherwise, collect unemployment and leisurely look for a better place.

It shouldn't be too hard given you basically dodged not a bullet, but a fucking rpg.

    that doesn't sound right.

sounds like a UIC claim working out.

let me guess they said they fired you for something else ?

@AvatarOfKaine Nope. It’s just as I said. I was fully expecting a more positive outcome based on all the hype they made around being a pro-employee management. They straight up lied.

@CoreFusionX Yeah, I eventually found something much better and less stressful. But I’m a glass half empty guy after 26 years of this crap. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

@bigmonsterlover Stop policing my words, you woke fuck. If it helps, they were all white so you can feel free to hate them like I didn’t. The point was they were scattered across multiple time zones and in unstable political situations which screwed with our project scheduling. Having at least some devs in-house would have provided at least a little continuity in our day-to-day ops.
