Has ANYONE ever seen an example of a clean, usable LCARS-style user interface for anything practical or everyday use? It was always so cool to look at on ST:TNG but every time I see it put into practice, it falls apart. I don’t know why I want it so bad, but I do.

I don't even understand what you are saying. Do we even speak the same language? Looks alien to me

I assume he means the kind of swooping linear UIs like you see on the screens in star trek the next generation.

Ah yes, abbreviations, because we all know what LCARS or ST:TNG means.

LCARS is an interesting piece of UX evolution; it was originally designed specifically to be quiet, but its excessive use of colour actually makes it very loud in a modern context. In addition, the design doesn't really work with touch feedback which is a cornerstone of usability in modern interface design.

In conclusion, no and I don't believe it's possible but I'd be intrigued.
