@electrineer or maybe his screen flashes on and then off without being touched. Then it takes a full half hour before his button is sensitive again.

I honestly just turned off my Mac, got up from my desk and it just booted back up. I don’t even think I touched the computer. I bumped against the desk or something.
How many times have I unintentionally booted the thing up by just slightly touching the lid or caressing the touchpad accidentally? -
hjk10156962y@red-knot ok if you touch the pass it's a bit your fault. (But that should still be configurable like in any decent OS).
I fucking hate that Bluetooth (and wifi) is always on and you can't configure that behaviour. Yes there are hacks and they stop working every major update.
Awesome I really wanted my BT notice cancelling headset to connect to my MacBook that is in my backpack in the bowels of the bus. Now I can't listen to any music or video in my phone for 6 hours. -
See, there is your mistake: You need to touch it twice.
One touch means: Yes, boot up.
Two touches means: No, actually don’t boot up. -
Also what new version of MacOs is it asking you to download today? It's Tuesday, so I assume I'm already 3-4 weeks out of date with the latest version for some reason and therefore can no longer run xCode.
-
@ojt-rant It’s Xcode, not xCode.
And the incompatibility issues come up only when you use betas of macos or Xcode. Or if you are some number of major versions behind. That’s normal and Windows and VS does the same.
Major versions come once in a year, so it’s not like you need to deal with it each day or each weak as you suggest. -
tw0011812yUmm... What do you mean by booting up? As a Mac user, I don't understand why you have turned it off in the first place.
-
@tw001 Windows users might not get the point, so let’s make it a bit more clear:
My mac is booted up for months, too. I just put it into sleep when I’m done and wake it up when I need it again. -
@tw001 it’s up to me whether I want it on or off. It shouldn’t be up to the OS to unilaterally decide that it’s going to boot up if I ever so slightly touch the computer
-
@red-knot But seriously, where did you touch it? I’m not sure but the touchpad might be able to trigger a boot-up. Or the fingerprint sensor key. Otherwise, if you really just touched the outer frame, it might be broken. Never heard of such a case.

Mac fucking book pro! No! Just because I brushed up against you doesn’t mean I want you to boot up! Do you think I’m that eager to turn you on? Is the usual brain dead Apple user that fucking lazy to not wanna press a button to turn his computer on? And there’s no fuckin’ way to change this behavior!? I tried changing system variables but none of the suggested tips work. And you even have Apple support people ask: "why WOULN'T you want it to boot up if you sneeze on it?" FUXKKLK
