Does any developer here does design work as well as code. I got pulled into it. was expecting a only dev job, according to the job description" but the creative team start handing me InDesign task and Photoshop task with no experience in design. is that crazy or normal for front end developers?

Depends I've had jobs where I handled it all. Now, I focus more on backend, but it's nice to know front end. I always look for a hybrid graphic/Web dev to work alongside with.

I been doing both for while. It's a cool skill but it's weird though.

I know right?!! Like I cringe when I send anything off for review.

As my one colleague says, "Magenta and Comic Sans, and we ship it!" 😎

Well, if you have a design team... Then it comes across as a little weird. It kinda feels like they're passing work to you that you shouldn't be doing...

@skittlestable I agree with that. The job description was a lie. Instead I am using outdated stuff and doing basic things. Not bootstrap, angular, sass, or Spring. all a lie

I started as a designer, but has always been a geek that found tech amusing. Now I do most front-end, some full-stack and have an eye for design as well.

To me, it's all about creativity, though I find coding the most creative. It's like creating something that's alive!

I play in both worlds. I think I come from a time period where it was expected. I think now things have become more niche. Still do both though.

If been the middle man for a while now, not that i actually do stuff in design programs. But I get asked alot about how I would design it and the code possibilities for their design. So I'm guessing I kinda do both too.
