Try an IDE for specific projects... Jetbrains has one for your expertise, I'm sure.

I use Atom primarily now, because I was getting "anomalies" in Notepad++. I use it to create DDL for Oracle. I use DBArtisan as my main tool, but create the DDL in Atom so that I don't execute it until I'm darn well ready to.

@code-god and @ashkin Thanks for the tip. I've installed Sublime Text and it looks promising. But...how do I get a sidebar where I can browse files on an FTP server (like the FTP Plugin in NPP)? Tried a package called SFTP, but it only features a sidebar for working with folder mappings. Any idea which FTP package I should use for working with web projects?

@TerriToniAX I'm not sure, as I haven't used ftp for projects since my early PHP days. But, as with everything in Sublime, there's a plugin for that. 🙂

@TerriToniAX Install plugin called sidebar enhancement. Then open a folder and u will get a sidebar!

@code-god It seems that I can still only open local folders. I don't want to do that. I want to open a directory on the FTP server.

@TerriToniAX I guess you should try nuclide then

@code-god Thanks for the tip. The name sounds familiar. Will give it a try.

@code-god Not fully supported on Windows. I do have Linux on my desktop, but I mostly do my hobby programming on one of our laptops, that have limited diskspace. And if I have to choose only one OS, sorry but it has to be Windows.
