There's no quality floor, paying money for software maintained by a publicly traded corporation only means that besides having the software you also want to reward the shareholders.

Hazarth94862yLol:
"notifications for Microsoft accounts in the Start."
What a catchy name, really rolls off the tongue. Not as if they just really didn't want to call it ads at all -
hjk10157312yWe've already had search in start fail a few times because of bing and other stupid integrations in win 10. If you don't know the exact path or shortcut you wouldn't be able to open the programs. So most users had a hard time doing anything.
The part of the interface that it that bar is something the user has no control over. Every section has been used to push adds and ms programs/services. -
@hjk101 they'll improve the search by only searching ads from now on, lol
Sadly, wouldn't even make it worse. -
hjk10157312y@electrineer powered by the wonders of the new AI technology of course. Call it "desire fulfillment in the Start". Start menu knows best, you just didn't know you needed it yet.

Root825572yEvery day I hear from my father-in-law about how much better windows is and he can’t believe we insist on using Linux despite all the things it can’t do and all the problems it has. 🙄
The only thing he cares about is overclocking, benchmarking AAA games he doesn’t play, and rgb lights. (And endless fucking politics.)
Amusingly, he even admits that most games run totally fine on Linux, and several games even run better. And that windows has problems that he doesn’t experience in Linux. But ofc Linux is still terrible and nobody should use it unless they’re a developer.
Whatever, dude.
Old dog, new tricks.
Windows 11 enables now ads in the start menu...

They really don't listen.
Will be interesting to see when they remove the disable settings or what happens if MS cannot phone home.
This OS gets crappier and crappier, it's interesting.
Ubuntu pulled that stunt before, got whacked for it and yet they try the same again.
