    CPU: depends, are you on a budget?

    If(budget) return AMD
    else return intel

    I personally went with an AMD Ryzen because it's a higher grade of performance for a lot better price per core/thread.

    GPU: I personally like Nvidia because they have the best architecture for performance currently. If you're on a tighter budget get AMD for both CPU and GPU.

    A Ryzen 5 1600X ($250) with a good AMD graphics card would be nice.

    @Biggy Well I would go with an AMD Ryzen CPU and an Nvidia GTX 1070 if you can find one, since a lot of digital currency miners are picking them up and driving prices up.

    @Biggy Nvidia typically only updates it's drivers for Windows because they believe their cards are only for performance/gaming so the drivers for other OS are either hardly updated or nonexistent.

    @Biggy because Linux and nvidia drivers don't play nice at all

    Ryzen and Vega would make you hip and cool

    I personally have an intel and nvidia rig and really like it. It is a bit more expensive but your budget allows for quite a nice computer. Amd caused too many problems for me personally, especially cooling and gpu detection related. Also crossfire is a pain in the ass

    @Biggy My advice is to wait for the miners issue to end. Now gpu prices are too high

    Intel + Nvidia = expensive but reliable.
    AMD + AMD = Fail^2 but cheaper.

    Wait for the amd thread-ripper processors, then you can judge

    For CPU go for Ryzen, for GPU go for Nvidia. There

    @Cosmomanaic my budged is ~1.500 - 1.800 Euro.

    I would personally choose amd ryzen 1700x. Its around 400 euros and nvidia 1070 450 ish euros with asus b350 plus motherboard around 100 euros. But i would wait for the gpu prices to go down. You can get the rest of stuff in around 600 euros, i think. Storage with 1TB hdd and 256gigs ssd will be around 200 together. And you can find a case ,power supply and fans and rest of stuff for 400.
