Client, two months ago: "Where is the new and complicated custom software?! We needed this a week ago!"

Also client three weeks after delivery: "We still don't have time to test the new and complicated custom software. You'll have to wait for payment a little longer."

Until it's been paid for, it's still yours. Can you not just take it down?

@fattymiller Exactly. I'm not releasing the final code and data import until the final invoice is paid. Thing is, I still need to be able to pay my contractor who did the majority of the work. That money comes from the bill they are delaying.

Gotta love people who cram a deadline down your throat, then when you finally deliver have no time to deal with it.

Demand upfront payment and offer a discount if done so. Set short 'due date' in the invoice.
