Depending on the company, this can be a compliment or a threat.

"Some of us have been born here. Sometimes one escapes. but we never hear back from them. No one knows what is outside and whether they just die or actually reach a better place... Psst! Keep working. The overseer is back."

It's amusing being told this when you're about to hand in your notice.
