Why is C++ behind C ? C++ is definitely better.

@Alt-Grrr Tiobe only cares about how often you find things about a language on the web, So it's not about the 'best' language (whatever 'best' should mean in this context).

I would say TIOBE measures the worst programming languages, as the most talk on the web will be on things people don't understand and flood the programming help sites.

@qsoomro ok, sure. But doesn't the actual language put a temp variable on the stack or something? Feels like cheating.

You can't create a top languages list based on how "good" a language is, it's highly subjective, and depends on the project as well.

You could create lists based on employment, demand, popularity, things like that. I've always found the stackoverflow survey to give a nice overview:

    https://insights.stackoverflow.com/...

Although even then, there are big differences between countries.

No source. What means top? The most searched?

@Alt-Grrr is actually like focusing on what the SO survey said, that coders that use spaces (or tabs, i dont remember) usually earn more than those who use tabs (or spaces, i dont remember) when I'm prety sure most of tabs users are using some IDE tor text editor which interprets tabs as spaces
