Is it a good idea to show the github repo link to my boss ( I'm the only developer/IT guy/etc in the company)

I'd say maybe print a log of check-in/push. Who owns the code at the end of the day? If they do I don't see why not share the repo.

you can show him as long as you're a good bullshitter. he wouldn't know what you wrote there. but if he has a 'friend' which happens to know 'it stuff' you might end up bullshittin' more!

we purchased a company's github account and I'm pushing all stuff there. I'm not sure if they check that.

Follow up. Are you asking because you're afraid he'll count your program line count as your effort or are you afraid of getting caught slacking? if you've put forth honest effort and your boss is ignorant I would answer differently than if you were trying to hide non progress.

You can break what you do in tasks and then you show what have you done and what is remaining.

If you're the only dev/IT guy/etc in your company, how can you be sure anyone else'll understand what's in that repo?

Maybe it'd be easier if you could demo whatever you've been working on every now and then instead?

My experience (being the only dev in the company I work for) is that most people need something less abstract than code to understand whatever is going on.
