Come on Mac... We already have industry legends like Windows updates, Gradle build etc.. you don't want to be part of that legend :(

    I find it mildly funny, how mac os seem to under estimate their time expenditure, where windows tends to over estimate it ;p

    I don't quite get it. Is the fact that you get updates bad? Mac os won't force you to update as windows would

    @dontPanic it's not about pushing updates, in fact Mac is pretty non-intrusive in doing it, like nightly update or remind me tomorrow. Windows can't wait more than 4 hours. But Mac said 31+ minutes for a software update (not even an os update) was surprising !!

    @noder oh... Well.. that seems fair

    Mac is just another windows

    I've never seen it actually take 30min even if it said so...
    15 max.

    But whatever! If the updates WORK I'm happy!!!

    Windows would take longer than 30min and there's a high chance it would break something (~4/10 updates have for me)

    @RickDiculous179 I also thought the same.. Mac updates take fewer mins and rarely fail..

    but this rant was just the first part of my day's story..

    pls check my next two rants.. short story - update got stuck, didn't boot after restart, corrupted disc, needed a hot fix, whole process took seven hours :(

    @noder ahh...

    That's rare though (well rarer*).

    Correct to assume it's an old Mac? Maybe the drive is getting old and has some corrupted sectors?

    I'd bet my life btw that windows would have skipped over the error - do the update - brick the PC 😎😎😎 (like a boss!)
