You have 2 options:

a) Work together with a "C player" (low skills/ talents)

b) Work alone

How would you decide and why?

A providing they are willing to improve

I'll work with the 'C' player if he/she is willing to learn+grow.

I've worked with a fair number of 'C' players that simply haven't found their niche yet (then turned into 'A' and solid 'B' players).

AppDev is such a diverse ecosystem, unless the individual lies to himself/herself everyday, 'C' players are only playing the wrong position.

I'm working together with a "C player" right now. And I feel bad because I'm doing the work and he's just sitting there waiting for the day to end. So I ask him like every 5min if he wants to try to continue etc and give him the keyboard/mouse and he seriously doesn't even tries to do shit. He just says no I'm not gonna type anything because I don't want to break stuff and I'm like WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN HERE THEN. I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO IMPROVE OR SHIT. I'M SHOWING YOU EVERYTHING AND I'LL HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. BUT NO FUCK YOU. YOU ARE TOO LAZY TO DO SHIT. AND EVEN IF YOU WOULD BE JUST AFRAID OF BREAKING STUFF. WERE FUCKING USING GIT. WHO THE FUCK CARES IF YOU BREAK SOMETHING. YOU CAN EASILY ROLL BACK THE WHOLE FUCKING PROJECT IN 10 SECONDS.
Sorry. Just wanted to get my head free :)
