Does anyone know what the Boolean Pythagorean Triples problem or the Ramsey Theory? I read about it while reading an article on brute reason, a kind of compliment to brute force...

I vaguely remember reading about Ramsey Theory and combinatorics in general years ago. Then I remembered I didn't like mathematical theory that much.

@Letmecode I was reading an article that was talking about brute reasoning and it said Boolean Pythagorean Triples problem was being used somehow to test because it's an open problem that would take too long to solve on paper or with brute force. I hadn't heard of it but was interested and was wondering if anyone here had.

I think the Boolean Pythagorean problem cuts down on the number of possible combinations to make brute Force more viable. But I am not entirely sure.

@randomcomma that would make sense in relation to the article. I'm going on call tonight for the next week so ill read as much as i can about it since my sleep pattern is going to get screwed up anyways

Ugh I hated when I used to be on call.

@randomcomma I don't mind it so much except that customers ask me to get my teams on to fix things, and then leave us without them to test or tell us if they're still down. That's when I get cranky lol.

@taylorviktorya lol that happens to us too all the time. We do a lot of remote implementations via things like gotoassist, WebEx, etc. The customer vanishes and we can't test or complete things.

@randomcomma normally when they vanish I end the calls under "assumption of restored services, customer left us no way of testing" and then they yell at me because their boss yelled at them. And then i go eat ice cream and enjoy my day knowing their lazy asses got in trouble.

My bosses know i don't care because I told them I don't get paid enough to care about other people's applications if the owners don't even care. If they want me to care more then the owners, they should pay me accordingly.
