It's really good that you made a choice to save money for your sister education. However, I will suggest that you try to sell your laptop on Craigslist or somewhere. Use that money to build a system with very basic parts. I don't think you need expensive hardware for python development. But it's just a suggestion. Good Luck Mate. :)

@Crayons my laptop's quite old, I would probably get no more than $120 for this. And I've thought of building an AMD rig, but even that would be around $500. And then there's portability issue.

I don't know what to do, no system means I can't do freelancing, that paid me some extra bucks and every single penny counts​.

@dfox @Letmecode so things happened, my dick of a boss came to know of my illness, started blaming me for the team's incompetency. Guess I have a few months until I'm fired. And I don't think I have enough strength to go through something like that again, don't wanna join corporate. Freelancing was an option until I had a laptop. Not now. Any suggestions?

I was thinking of raising a fundraiser for a laptop. Sis's fee is $6300 approx a year, 3 years left. I can't ask fellow good strangers for that much. If I can get a laptop however, I could be self sufficient.
