Starting my first dev job next week (except for freelance work) and I'm crazy nervous that I'm going to make some huge mistake and look really stupid. Did anyone else have these fears before their first dev job and, if so, how'd you stay at least a little confident?

I've never had a dev job, but I am pretty confident in saying that's definitely normal.

If you have awesome co-workers, they'll realize you're human and that you're rather new to this, so they shouldn't hold you to high standards.

If you're working with a dev-team, then you'll probably be friendly welcomed (or how you say that) and they'll guide you for your first period. Dev-guys are (mostly) really great and understanding people that know how it is for new guys. Just don't drop databases or push credentials to online repo's within your first week :D don't try to work or sell yourself above your experience.

Grow with the team. The knowledge and experience will come as you progress.

But most importantly.. It's the new-comer's job to make and bring coffee for the first few months .. ;-) :D

Just expect at least the failure, learn from it, aaaand continue like this until you're confident of your skills\capabilities. This way I dodged the stress and had great time working.
