Started a new job recently and feel like I don't know anything compared to everyone else, only got a years commercial experience but feel like I should know more! Anybody else ever feel like this when they were starting out? How do you overcome it?

I'm in the same position. Being surrounded by people better than you is only bad for your ego and good for everything else. And imagine this: Would you like to work for a company where YOU are the best programmer? I wouldn't, because it would be a pretty shitty company.

I overcome it by thinking that my seniors are paid to handle my crap hahaha. Also, everybody feels lost when they start working in a new place, it just gets better with time. Stay humble and patient.

@jsframework9000 yeah I suppose! Forgot how hard it is to start at a new place! I just got too comfortable at my old place and stopped learning so much, good to be learning now though!

Switched jobs after six years, four months ago. Feel like I've been living under a rock. It's cool to know a lot, it's awesome to learn much more.

That is a good thing. When that feeling stops its time to move on.
