Can you tell if it's just the screen or if the panel behind the screen is busted, too? Just the screen wouldn't be too terribly hard to replace, but if it's deeper, might need to take it to a shop to have them do it.

    Just the screen

@spdhiraj99 i would look online for a screen. Is it touch screen?

I just want to know... whether the glass will be replaced or the whole display unit

@spdhiraj99 if you take it to a shop they usually replace the whole display (with possibly the top case too but not always). If you buy parts and do it yourself you replace whatever is broken. With touchscreen it gets more complicated to do it yourself

It's still in warranty ...so i'll go give them a visit first

@spdhiraj99 let me know how it goes

    Yeah sure!.. thanks

@spdhiraj99 it would cost you β‚Ή2-3k for a 15' replacement AFAIK when a colleague of mine had his replaced.

@QueenMorgana First time I'm witnessing a person being so helpful and showing concern online, although people have been on IRC, Twitter, StackO, etc. But here in devRant you're the first and it is great to have such kind person like you. Really appreciate it. Keep up the kindness β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘

@kabhishek thank you. I've known nothing but kindness on here. I'm sorry it seems like you haven't had the same experience.

If it is outdated I would buy a new one and use the old as NAS or encoding mashine. Just SSH into it. πŸ‘πŸ½

@LinusCDE it's still under warranty so i don't think it's outdated quite yet

@QueenMorgana You're right. And has a touchscreen. Lucky you, mine doesn't.
  • 2
@LinusCDE that just means it's easier to fix yourself

@QueenMorgana I don't know if I could buy avreplacement and even if, it would be worth more thsn the entire laptop itself. It is about 5 years old.

@LinusCDE ahhhh. That would probably make the most sense. What kind of laptop is it?
  • 2
