Note to my future self:
A 2048Bit SSH key is minimum,
4096Bit is good enough
8182Bit is too much
16364Bit... why do I even bother about this size

    Once I tried to create a 8kb key an a raspberry pi. It took 8 hours until my system crashes. After that a decided a 4k key is enough.

    @bosi I honestly even tried a 16Kb key, which took about a minute to log in.

    @Scrumplex at this level of security I am not sure if the biggest problem is just the transfer of the key between 2 systems. I mean a 8 or 16k key is only save if nobody else has the key (as well as the smaller keys)

    @bosi yep. It's good that the limit of OpenSSH is 16k.
