I might have gotten myself in the situation that I have to update this Android app, whose development was outsourced (we're a .NET shop). I just peeked into the APK and realized it's written in js (Cordova).

How fucked am I?

    @mansur85 I agree with this table. By, like....a lot.

    And not because I hate JS (I actually enjoy it to be honest) but because apps built in anything other than the standard-default technologies tend to shit on themselves sooner rather than later.

    Turns out I don't have to update this, but I can actually rewrite it with complete freedom including tech stack, or rather develop a new app for Android and iOS that could do what the old one did, but really I can kinda do whatever I think is useful. Now I have to choose wisely a stack without too many footguns for a .NET developer...
