!rant, but self flaggelation.

Been 3 weeks with my new company.

They are M$ shop, so got the Surface Book and top specced base.

And today I spilled coffee on it 😱

Granted, I had this coming. Over the years I've had many laptops, and put them in all sorts of dangerous situations. But of course it happens now to embarrass me at the new company.

Does anyone have any experience with surface service or returning, and cost? 💸

Well, if you happen to know a person who repairs laptops professionally like https://youtube.com/user/... (NYC, USA), your chances are good that it is repairable for $250 or less.
M$ will most likely not repair it or at least not for a reasonable price and your warranty is most likely gone too...

If I see that correctly, you are from Norway, maybe there is some good repair guy/woman who can handle a liquid damage.

    Thank you,

Yes liquid damage is outside warranty. And I heard rumors that MS charges $450+ to have it replaced, so looking around is worth it.

Let's pray that someone has learned how to repair it, and are willing to ignore iFixit's 1 out of 10 in repairabillity.

@vandroid64 Is your SB the one with fur/velur on it?
They are really difficult to open without some kind of damage... M$ really fucked uf just for a "nice design"...

The repairability of the hardware itself should not be too bad.

    Haha, no.

I have the one with performance base. So it is just straight grey.

It's a quirkily designed piece of machinery, but I've enjoyed using it so far.

But the headphone jack, Microsoft, come on!
