Any open source CRM recommendations? I've been tasked to implement one for my company. Pic related, how I feel with some paid systems.

the crm business is a pile of crap. I've researched crms for my last employer and either they're shitty or shitty expensive. And they regularly stop to work because of external API's change e.g. external accsess to linkedin stoped because of a deal with salesforce.

so if somebody know a good open source crm please share it here 😊

Too late to edit so I'll say here. It's mostly just for storing information about our clients and their infrastructure and physical sites (we manage and support college networks)

@heyheni yeah from my googling it does seem like a crapshoot. I'm considering just developing an in-house system.

@TheCapeGreek Do that but put emphasis on UX since those poor sales folks have to use it daily. Do a competion analysis what others do good and what not. Use a smart database which finds relations between customers automaticly. For example a grqph db like https://neo4j.com/

one of the more interesting crms is https://www.cloze.com/app/ with it's VOIP Phone integration.

Also there is the aspect of syncing the crm with the acounting software and marketing meassures like email newesletter software mailchimp.

it's not an easy task, but I wish you luck. 👍

@heyheni Thanks for the suggestions! We don't do hardcore sales and such so traditional CRMs don't fit the bill for us.

Otherwise yeah, I've been focusing on UX and code quality more these days.

@kp15 I'm not too clued up on these systems, but I'll look into it. Also, we're really not sales driven, it's for operations and information. Looking for something open source

@TheCapeGreek Have a look at CiviCRM, it's an open source CRM for non-profits that I worked with for a couple of years. There's a nice community around it.

CRM for most organizations today is Salesforce. Sales, marketing, and service data available in Salesforce often needs to be combined with other data sources to generate effective business ideas.

Well, I've never worked on something like this by myself, but I think that it's always a good idea to ask for professional help. To create a quality and functional CRM you need a company with some experience and great cases. There is a lot of information online, so you can find some info on how to do it, or just find a professional service. Here is one article https://ddi-dev.com/blog/case/... which is related to your question, it's a case study of CRM for the banking sector. I read it all and for me, it was very informative. I don't have plans to work on something like this, but I liked the case study and I think if there is a need, then this company will be the one I consider.
