Any nexus 6p users are out there? I'm thinking of flashing a new rom because the performance is taking a big hit and battery life is becoming abysmal. Any recommendations for this particular phone?

    LineageOS, without any doubt.

Note that there are known battery defects. Just search for "nexus 6 battery issues"

@Gophyr is the 6p different pal?

@iam13islucky woops sorry meant to type 6p. But I think it's across many nexus devices

@Gophyr okay, thanks for the info guy!

@SlyCoopers man, that's a shame. I love this thing, I'm sad to see it going south :(

@SlyCoopers what really? How old was your phone when this happened?

@SlyCoopers @kalolparty I used to have a nexus 5x but it completely died. No response on plugging into pc, powering on or charging. Switched back to my Nexus 5 while saving up for a new phone (aiming for pixel 2) and this battery legit outlasts the nexus 5x.

Ps. Uninstalling Snapchat makes any phone run like new.

I am Nexus 6p user and so far battery holds quite well: with much of daily use, company chat, client calls, Trello, reading news and devRant, from 100% in the morning until 20% in the late evening. This one was made by Huawei though, not sure if there are some other manufacturers that also have license to make Nexus 6p.

    Lineage, for now.

Pure Nexus ROM is simple, popular and has few customisation features.

Anyone with battery issues, contact Google, they may send you a replacement device, they did it for me. I had my phone for over a year too.

I had the same issue, started doing a full factory rom reinstall every 3 months or so and haven't had the issue come back.

Would just recommend flashing the factory rom and see how you go

The battery life is abysmal because it's an older phone and the battery has had a fair bit of charge cycles. Flashing anew ROM won't help, swapping the battery will. It's chemistry not CompSci.

@Jop- you can, it just takes tools. I'm thinking about doing just that

Deffo Lineage. I managed to get it onto the mother’s Galaxy S4 and it screams along.

@Jop- Had mine replaced a week ago in a repair shop. As good as new now, battery lasts for ages like it used to. It's almost weird, I'd gotten so used to being constantly paranoid about my battery 😄

@Froot where'd you get it done?

@iam13islucky In a repair shop. It's a local shop, I doubt it exists in your country 😄
