A classic leaving card for one of my great colleagues. Sad face.

After zero contact for approx 4-5 years I get an Instagram message:

Old work buddy: Hello, I have a website question for you
Me: Ok
OWB: Hope you’re well, btw
Me: *hmmmmm*
OWB: basically blah blah blah can’t get this part of this Wordpress theme to work
Me: I’ll have a quick look. Oh btw I have big news...
OWB: You up the duff?
Me: Yep!
OWB: Congrats...do you think you can help with the website?
Me: Probably not at the moment and it looks like a pig of a job to make the theme work properly.
OWB: *silence*

Google: How can I fix this something something...

Me: Ahhhhh that looks like it could be the right solution *scrolls* yep looks great and would work! But wait there’s something weirdly familiar about the question... *scrolls* oh crap it was me 2 years ago!!! 🤔😂

My time sheet software has this beaut of a message always catches me out...

Expected to know everything about C# when all you've done is used Visual Studio to build an installer that bundles up someone else's C# app.

I'm a Web Dev not a magician (although at times I feel like it 😊).

Yes I've got a bit of the knowledge that's managed to get into my brain via osmosis but not mission critical level stuff.

Client: Thank you for this and all your hard work we will review and get back to you EOP Friday before final submit.

Us: We have been working to a deadline and have actually finished early which meant that we would be able to submit on Friday, at the very least by the afternoon. One question...is this your time EOP Friday?

Client: Yes

Us: That'll be 2 in the morning here and a Saturday.
