The down sides of living in a third world country, the prices of things { especially electronics } are so damn expensive. I love my country and all but hey this is really unaffordable.

To give you an idea, I work for 40 hours a week, four weeks a month and earn around 25,000 rupees.

Sometimes I just watch videos on YouTube of people building things and feel happy for them.

take a look at orange pi, they are like 1/3rd the price

Just start with a cheap micro controller like the ESP8266. It is arduino compatible and brings WiFi. Add cable, breadboard and some things like LEDs and a sensor and you can build some neat little things. Should be cheaper than a raspberry pi.

I agree with BindView, OrangePi is wayyy cheap and works fine.
I ordered a Pine64, it is also cheap compared to RPi, although had to pay for shipping and it shipped just fine, I reside in India too btw.

maybe try to buy from a foreign web store and pay shipping yourself? Could be cheaper.

    I got a pi 3 for ₹2900 from elements14. I think that's a fairly good deal.

If you're skilled enough, work remotely from a higher-paying country? Or Move?

@BindView Well actually, 25k has been the standard starting pay since over ten years. Back then it was enough for a decent life. Now its barely enough.

@BindView I'm lucky to have a job that pays really well. But most others aren't.
Also, do NOT come to India. Unless you're a tourist. I'm planning to move out soon myself.
