I think your friend has been using his computer to hide his problem for way too long! It may be time for an intervention. Not a hard drive donation.

Just like my family.. how they hoard stuff at home resembles how they hoard digital data. Then when their HDDs get corrupted, they all run to me asking me what to do and if they can be retrieved. When will people ever learn?!
