It sounds dumb, but the only way to get yourself motivated is to read a bit of new tech. Try hackernews or any of the millions of developer Twitter feeds.
You'll see things that'll make you think 'oh that's cool, I wonder how that works!' And before you know it, pow, you're motivated.
Leverage your curiosity. It's your most powerful asset. -
sudouser6808y@monothorn Push through it. View other people's code that implements that concept. Go back to learning it, try to build something with what you learned.
Most importantly if your stuck because it's hard, come back to it after a day or two but go over what you do know. That should remove the mental block. -
monothorn148yThanks all. Actually I do all those things but the software engineering job that I am in, do not experiment with tech that well as does the outside world, which is kinda disappointing. Freelancing is an option that I am trying to get my hands dirty with but still no luck. I want to make cool things like the ones they make in Africa etc. They are solving actual problems. I want to do that but not without getting money in return.

zshh38488yFor learning a new language or framework I usually just implement something that already exists but with this new language/framework. Then I have a clear specification of what needs doing, usually works for me!

monothorn148y@h3ll how about we do something about it bro? Because, switching jobs rarely solves the problem. Well for me it hasn't.
How to stay motivated to learn new concepts in coding guys?
