Yesterday, I attended a seminar about agile methods, Agile Islands. I attended it last year too, and have previously attended more or less evangelist lectures about agile so my expectations were frankly not that high. But, I have to say...WOW! Now I finally get what agile is all about! The reason that I haven't been convinced until now is that we've been doing it all wrong :)

@AlexDeLarge I totally see your point of view. This is exactly how I've seen agile, more or less a buzzword. What I realized is that agile is not a process in itself, but a method to improve the processes. However, in all jobs were I've worked with "agile methods", it's become a static process not really adding any value to the work.

@TerriToniAX It adds value in that it creates a reason to have more managers and leads and whatnot. And big companies loooooove that, they love having tons of management people that all jerk around and fill the space.

But in all seriousness. I'm still on the fence about agile

Heres our form of Agile, Meeting on what needs to be in product and when, meeting to determine language(s), meeting to determine framework(s) (if needed/wanted), code till its in beta with nothing but basic slack conversations, meeting about known bugs and new features wanted, code till known bugs and new features complete, push project to QA, code till QA bugs are gone, (repeat QA steps till no more big bugs exist), give to client and earn money, maintain project.
