How much are you paying? Obviously if you do not care about fast file transfer the HP is just better performing hardware.
-
How is this a question? Unless you need the Mac for a specific (MacOS-related) use case, any other machine is going to be better value.
That said, is your only alternative _really_ HP? -
@tullo-x86 i need a very performant laptop and in the dame time i need xcode so i'm a little bit confused
-
@moolsbytheway If you need Xcode it'll have to be the Mac :(
Unless you can get a cheap Mac Mini alongside the HP -
Dominic2287y@moolsbytheway The last Update was in 2014 and you don’t want do spend to much money for a 3 year old hardware unless you have a very good offer.
The Screen is for today Standards also unexceptionable. -
@moolsbytheway
HP's hardware leaves a lot to be desired. It has good specs, but the hardware components are cheap. I see several HPs in my shop that fail after the first year -
What is your use case? If just web development you can go for the hp and either keep windows or switch to Linux. If you are developing mobile and web then mac and that ain't even a question. Macs last and are worth every penny, but it is not good to constrain yourself to a single environment.

If the HP one has geforce 940mx 4gb then it's exactly what I'm using rn. Dual boot works fine.
-
mngr9407yWhat about ram speed and front side bus of mother board?
I have computer at work that has a crappy dual core pentium, and 2200 front side bus, ddr4 ram and SSD.
I can assure that speed is more relevant than dimension and power (no need for a i7) -
@AleCx04 i prefer the HP because its new and its specs arent bad but im a fan of quality hardware and battery lasting and Macs just have that
-
ragrr4267yTo be honest I wouldn't buy a Mac, and the HP pieces feel cheap, and some HP have thermal issue, so I'd look up for a third option
-
@moolsbytheway MSI really depends on the model you're considering. Which one's were you looking at?
