    @Dominic Just went and read about it. Interesting. What are its benefits Vs ext4?

    @Froot
    - storage addressing capability
    - builtin RAID, no need for LVM, dynamic - hierarchical filesystems
    - no datacorruption due to everything is - checksummed and there is self-healing
    - transactional and copy-on-write features
    - snapshots is the best feature

    So I had 17.04 with gnome-shell installed via terminal, (not an Ubuntu gnome iso) should I just dist-upgrade or would I need to do a fresh install?

    Given the abundant excellent alternatives, nobody under any circumstances should be using ext.

    @Dominic Thanks

    @bahua Hmmm interesting. So should I make my next setup use ZFS instead? Could I see some compadibiliy issues with usb sticks or whatnot?

    @Froot

    A USB drive usually uses fat32 or something simple like that. The filesystem you copy from and the one you copy to only depend on kernel support. Linux 4 supports basically every filesystem you can imagine, natively and with all features.

    @Froot I do not recommend ZFS as root partition. Only for data and so on...

    I’m excited too!

    Unless you have a specific need, I fully recommend using xfs for everything.

    Either this is a really big coincidence or the illuminati is real.

    It's the year 17 and the month 10.
    👽👾.

    @Sukhi Yeah it's weird, it happens in every release! Illuminati confirmed!

    @linuxxx I'm half and half actually. I use Linux on my Dev laptop and windows at home PC mainly for games. I need to look into getting my games running in wine, then I can switch my desktop PC too.

    Needless to say, I prefer the Ubuntu experience on my laptop ALOT more :D
