Installed Elementary on an old machine. Wouldn't boot. Started over fresh, worked the second time, did nothing different. It's pretty, but not sure if I'll keep it.

    Hardware issue maybe? Despite the fact that you changed nothing, I think stuff like that can still happen due to this

    @chilledfrogs maybe? Everything seems fine, though. I will stick with it for a week or so and observe if any issues creep up.

    @MissDirection Keep me posted 😀 I'm also interested to hear the opinion of more experienced Linux users though

    Ah, elementsryOS. I still remember when autoremove got rid of all default apps.

    But it's pretty and kinda light so I still like it I guess.

    @chilledfrogs I'm interested to hear from them too. Spoiler alert: most will say "go with arch" lol. But I'm still a Linux noob.

    @MissDirection

    @MissDirection Meh I like Arch (I'm only half a Linux noob I think 😂😅) but just due to the learning curve and possibility of hardware issues I didn't mention it

    I tried Ububtu, Deepin, and now Elementary. Maybe I will try Mint or Manjaro next...

    @runfrodorun on the first go, it would just boot to a flashing cursor, and for some reason the HDD was screaming. Starting fresh fixed it.

    @runfrodorun I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
