Wow so much hate for WordPress. Le me to the rescue 💀

Yes WP is bloated and crappy and full of security issues etc etc. Agreed. That doesn't mean it is useless though.

It is alright to use for someone who is not really good with web, someone who just needs a blog, someone who just needs a home page, about page and contact form with a possibility of updating photo and text once or two times a month.

It is not suitable for e-commerce nor lots of transactions/forms involving websites.

As long as you know what kind of horse/vehicle you are on, you won't end up in the dirt.

I dont think any CMS is not full of security issues. Every code has it, wp does not differ actually.

The reason many issues are found is because it is used ALOT.

I like wordpress, when the person who build the site actually know what he/she are doing.
The problem with wordpress, is not wordpress itself but the people who make sites in it.

    Well, it is true :)

Wordpress is easy, and that attracts people who dont know shit to start creating websites with it.
They have zero knowledge of what PHP is, or even FTP is. But they now how to use visual composer to create shit.
And that is why wordpress is hated by real devs.

WP definitely have a lot of use cases! I really like it for creating small blogs with some content, like you described.

Why I personally hate it is because clients wants to push the limits of what it’s should be used for. It was created for blogging, now people have created plugins for it so you can use it as a e-commerce, booking sites etc. and coming from the “free world” (without any cms) it’s very hard to deal with WP.

I’ve only done one fairly big project that included booking, money and god knows what. It was horrible. I did not trust it at all, but the client was happy.

When people ask me for blogging platforms I recommend WP though.
