I suggest you use fiverr, competition is tough, but fiverr is the best place for freelancing.
To manage time, I used my school planner. I wrote Dow the client's name, contact, project request, and due date.
I suggest you start off low. By low, I mean $3-$5. This is because, since you're new, people won't trust you as much. Since you are starting low, you'll gain more clients.
Put as much effort as you can into your first clients, so that you can attract more.
You first client is always the hardest but after that, it's a breeze!
Good luck! -
To also contribute besides ranting:
- Writing down tasks is great via: Todoist/Trello/Ora.pm (listed from left to right by my opinion, right being the best)
- To build portfolio and profile, make sure the first 5 or so clients are the ones you kissed good night each time they left the chat
- Many clients during the interview make it more than obvious that they like to gargle shit and are not hesitant in making you share their hobby, sort them out and do not make business with them
- Do not hesitate to connect with support if your client is having a meltdown, to prevent him fucking you up
- Always try to be as human as possible, never write down a copy pasta and smash it to thousands of people - most clients pick you, because you are human and are very excited to work on that project
- If you need billing for whatever reason, use something like: https://www.waveapps.com/invoice/ -
coolq48207y@1989 3$ an hour is simply to generate a following, the start is the hardest part. No one will accept your work otherwise.
