    Probably @theNSA. I recon they could remotely update that camera to be X-ray compatible.

    @theNSA 😧 what have I done.
    Enjoying the view?

    what about keylogging, though? 🙁

    @Ashkin that's way worse than a tapped camera

    mic.startRecording()

    I don't understand those people... Somebody has access to your Laptop and the only thing you worry about is the cam? They could literally see everything you do and write online... While with the cam they just see me sitting there (worst case nude or jacking...) .

    Locked Firmware, Bios, drivers, Hidden x86 instructions, SystemD and I can go on and on how you lost the game a long time ago

    That's why you should tape it with lead

    Sticky boi??

    @Ashkin Yup this is why the Nsa would win. Spying through cams isn't the only option they have, Also, how many people have a sticker on their phone cams?

    Let's keylog the nsa

    Location services could also be leveraged to track your movements.

    @nik123 AMD did/still engage in shaddy stuff by not only having hidden X86 instructions and also the most well know AMD version of Intel-like "Management Engine" the "Platform Secure Proccessor" PSP which happens to be an ARM cpu runing Trustzone https://genode.org/documentation/... which yeah, ARM are not good guys either

    @legionfrontier hidden x86 instructions was kinda debunkt.

    But, Intel Management Engine, that is evil shit.
  • 0
    @legionfrontier Well that's not absolutely terrifying or anything.
  • 0
    @RageBone Mind sharing were is supposed debunked? Becuase it wasnt so long where this guy made his presentation about it https://youtube.com/watch/...

    @legionfrontier we watched the same talk 👍

    I was very interested in that and found a related Reddit thread where someone from some wierd c compiler stepped in and, well. You get it.

    The only thing questionable is the source, that dude and the compiler, but that's why I said "kinda debunkt"

    Watch out for the upcoming Black hat London talk about the intel ME.

    It's strange that people here actually believe they can outsmart the NSA.

    If the NSA targets you, specifically, you've lost. The thing is that they are not interested in you specifically, so just use standard tools and protocols and you're on the safe side. They will gather data about you, but they won't have any interest in it.

    Taking extreme precautions does little more than putting you on their (and others') radar. And then you'll lose because they are both smart and resourceful, while you (and me) are neither - in comparison.

    @elazar Let me summarize your comment: "You might as well not even try"

    The same people telling me this now had zero interest in protecting privacy before, and actively pushed everyone to use Google/et. al. because "it's so convenient."

    Their "I don't care about privacy concerns" quickly turned into "you have no privacy, but if you don't have anything to hide..." which later turned into "you can't fight them; you might as well not even try."

    So, pardon, but I absolutely *hate* that comment and that line of reasoning.

    @Root is ok to hate such reasoning, its a fucked up line of reasoning... doesnt stop it to be quite true though if you are realist enough, you are welcome to waste time forcing people in the current time we live on to change, I personally know no matter how much you shove them the problems into their fucking face and what you can do to solve it they_dont_fucking_care at the end of the day in the long run, they want simplicity/ease of use and they provide such thing in exchange for that stuff, you are welcome to believe whatever helps you sleep at night
