I love, love, LOVE Unity Engine!!!
Great tutorials, good documentation, helpful community, easy to understand interface...
It's all just... so beautiful.
I swear to god that I'm not shilling for them, I'm just so happy that, as a generally lazy SOB, I've been working for about 10+ hours now in one sitting, and I'm still not bored or frustrated that I don't get something.
God bless you Unity, I might actually make something outta myself...maybe...someday.

Tldr, I'm putting this up here because below is filled with rage. Basically, unity is good for getting something quick and nasty. Don't ever try to get cute or smart with it'll because it lack s what game engines should have.

Theres so much wrong with this.

I use to use Unity professionally for a little while. Let me show you what i think after I used it commercially for 2-3 years in a team.

Every fucking thing that comes out of that god damn forsaken heap of shit has the damn same "feel~" without INTENSE modification. Incidentally this is where all the problems begin.

The documentation is SHIT, UTTER FUCKING GARBAGE. You try to do anything complex and good fucking luck, I hope you like looking at source code on a bitbucket for some of their shit. (Their source code is also, fucking garbage because they outsourced half of it to underpaid devs)

Don't get me fucking started about their shit hole ass interface. Last time i used it, it didnt have a scene manager, I believe they implemented just as I stopped using it. (After us requesting for 3 fucking years and numerous face2face talks with their tech leads)

The community is full of braindead retards. Who actually don't know how to program. Its all fuckheads asking the same question repeatedly. "How do I do make physics go?"

It has the fucking worst asset bundling, asset caching. Upon a new checkout we had to wait 6 FUCKING HOURS for it to swap platforms from IOS to PC and vice versa. We had to implement our own caching and loading to get around this problem (which also decreased our loadtimes thankfully because unity is fucking ass like that.)

C# was literally Microsoft's answer to Java.
