@bittersweet
I'm using ISO, I was just explaining how dates are written in french, to say that they makes no sense ^^
Why... 24/05/1981... Luckily we don't write time the same... Imagine "your trip lasted 2 seconds 45 minutes 3 hours and 8 days" -

@AlexDeLarge Totally agree. I'm french, here the dates are DD/MM/YYYY but I think YYYY-MM-DD is the only way to go. It makes much more sense. Biggest unit to lowest one.
-
I prefer this one: http://lg.com/us/monitors/... :D
-
@RuntimeError Well... in this case, the data will be lost if the server hosting the DB fails ^^
Next time I'll just set up a backup system, which will copy backup to another server. So there will be 2 backups, on 2 different servers. -
@RodrigoF no, at all. They are just providing a bare machine. It's up to me to set up a backup system.

I suppose 0.7 value is 0.6999999999999999999999999999
-
@Gatgeagent Oh yeah, I know.
I was too confident. And if I envisaged that one of the RAID disks could failed, I never thought of the whole server to break down.
The disks are OK, but the server is broken. I didn't expected that. I'm freelance and never took the time to set up a better backup system :(
My fault.
Right now, I'm restoring site data from... Google Cache... -

Just write down all number on a paper, and cross out incorrect ones with indices ^^ -
[user.first_name, user.last_name].join(' ').trim()

@daniel-kun Yes, it is. The URL is written under the screen. From their website: "specializes in digital video advertising"

What I understand from this email, is that it is NodeJS which has a vulnerability. Not Heroku. No?

Light themes in any code/text editor.
Can you take a look at this?
Sure no problem... Hum, I see what you mean.
*Going to Settings => Theme => Dark*
Here, I fixed your problem. You're welcome.

@null-pointer Yes, sure. But imagine "you" (as a lambda person). If you throw a dice 10 times, with same result, you are ok to say that you'll probably think the dice is loaded, no? 😄
After 2 throws ? Probably not. 4 throws ? Hum... it'll begin to get into your mind.
5... probably much more doubtful
6... "Ow fuck, how is this possible? Is the dice cheated?"
7... "Well, ok, I'm sure the dice is cheated!... hmm... maybe I'll throw it just last one time... to be sure"
😇 -
Maybe should I try to cross a highway... just to be sure 😂
-
What is pretty funny, is that less than 3 weeks ago, I was ranting about the situation : https://devrant.io/rants/667731/...
:D -
This brings me to a question. Imagine we throw a dice. Five. We throw it again. Five. And again. Five. And so on.
At what point can we consider it's not random anymore, and that the dice is loaded (not sure about the right word, in french we say "pipé", meaning it will always give the same result) -
To answer your comments :
- No, it was not fun at all to live all this shit. Very stressful situation, no clear future. Since the beginning, each time there was a "dismiss" meeting, I was "ok, now is time".
- I stay because we let down the actual project and start on brand new ones. So it's pretty exciting. And I think there is no coincidence, I think that maybe I have my role in the future of the company.
(sorry if my english is not so good) -
Yeah... and don't forget to use Google Drive instead of GitHub.
-
More precisely, it's more the image resize than the compression which fuck up the images.
-
I don't get it...
-
This rant works with Sublime Text too.

All four :D
