@m0nk hahaha. Me and my gf were joking about something similar. That's even funnier. But my hobby has been finding a new job. That's my hobby.
@Fast-Nop Lmao. That's it in a nutshell. There's no way to answer, and then you have someone intently staring at you like some nude model they might hire.
I'm a gamer. No ambition.
I'm ambitious. Not fun enough.
That asshole joke had me in stitches. I might have to use that at some point. -
@electrineer sure, I can appreciate that context. But repeatedly, it's been hobbies outside of programming specifically. I told someone interviewing me my five year plan was to continue doing dev and improve. Her response was, "you wanna do dev all the time?" Somewhat disgusted, frankly. I fortunately said, "well, it depends a lot on your definition of all the time." Which got a laugh from everyone else. But this is the kind of bullshit I'm talking about.
-
@electrineer it's not that I can't handle it. That's a simple question. It's an obnoxious question in my opinion depending on the context, and generally irrelevant. What does someone I work for care about what I do outside of work? We're not making small talk at a bar. They're trying to gauge my technical skills. Feels asinine. Sharing common interests is all well and good, but should be organic. It's not some school popularity contest. Why not just be objective?

If true = true
Return false
Thats just poetry. -
@Midnigh-shcode haha. A PHP tutorial video from site point.

@SauceBoss Roger Dean. Famous album artist from the 70s. Check out his other work as well. I really like his stuff.

@AlexDeLarge Polybar seems awesome, I definitely want to check it out.
Yeah, I like terminator a lot. I configured colors with oomox tool, and then just copied them into the gui for terminal preferences. It's pretty quick and I actually like using it. So, that's how I did it. I considered using this python program that has prebuilt colorschemes.

You could probably just write some of your own into it and then use those as the plugin if you wanted. urxvt sounds like the way to go if you're gonna use .Xresources as a kind of homebase, but I'm nowhere close to an authority. -
@AlexDeLarge ASCII pin, for the win! Thanks, man! Yeah, I'm using terminator. It's the stock manjaro status bar, here's a pic. Vanilla Majaro-i3 is superhot shit imo. It comes really sweet out of the box, I was really impressed when I installed it. What are you using for your status bar? I like it a lot.
-
@RantSomeWhere oh nice! That's pretty cool. I'm totally stealing that.
-
@RantSomeWhere sorry don't know what that means. DDG'd it and didn't get any results lol.

I mean, I didn't need a year or any emus, as fun as that sounds. Just a couple weeks and a half dozen bottles of whiskey. I thought I would still be dragging at this point, but I feel good. Could it be possible you're overestimating the actual time you would need to be refreshed?

The notifications will be written the same horrendous way.

@Codex404 sometimes. Again if my hands are off the keyboard. Touch typing took me an absurdly long time to get good at, I think that's part of why I press keys so awkwardly. Example, I type every password with completely wrong fingers. I have no idea why. I think it's just because my muscle memory is faster that way.
-
Because when I run something I usually take my hands off the keyboard as a habit. Usually to crack my knuckles, then when the error gets thrown before I've really assumed typing position again, I just start hammering ctrl-c. Good question.
-
I feel like the whole point of using something like lodash is quick access to handy methods. Not learning any of them defeats the point entirely.
-
Ehhh. Give it a shot. It's only a minute long anyway.
-
@Cyanide hey I'm so sorry. I accidentally reported your comment by fat thumbing it. My bad.

@JoshBent that was a good article. Learned a lot through some of the methods he used.

Just saw this as well. Eran Hammer wrote a great piece a while back about the vulnerabilities of node. Rings true all around.

Congrats on the Lil devs!
Or should I say: junior devs. 😉😎 -
Sometimes it happens 100% of the time.

Wtf?

++ for story and Ralph Wiggum.

They always ask for me and I say a person with a rhyming name everytime.
Example:
Scam Caller: Hello is this Chachi Klaus?
Me: No, let me get him.
Scam Caller: Hello, sir is this Chachi Klaus?
Me: Oooh no. Sorry this is Rachi Maws. One sec.
Scammer: Chachi Klaus?
Me: Shit. Sorry. This is Hitachi Paws. One sec.
Until I hear the sound of someone killing themself on the other end. -
@devTea yeah they're pretty nice. You can see a tiny but of pixelation if you look really closely, but you have to really stare. I think they're probably from a really high quality laser printer.
