Overheard this morning from a desperate developer trying to find credentials for an undocumented payment gateway: "I found a random email address for someone who was at some point our account manager in documentation from 2012. I emailed it."

If a developer has to ask what a ticket actually asks for and the answer includes the words "The idea was...", you don't know what you want and it isn't ready for development.

Assigning me to another project because my current project is soul crushing is only helpful if you ever let me stop working on the current one. Otherwise I just have a new set of meetings to attend where my only contribution is that I didn't get anything done, and probably won't today either.

If you're a PM, don't complain about the lack of documentation if you only gave your developers 20% less time than they needed just to write the code.
