As CTO of an mid sized e-commerce agency I have to agree. The attitude in the industry is just awful. No one seems to want to tell the client that some things just aren't doable in x amount of time or x amount of money.
Generally there are a lot of agencies with terrible tech know-how. "cookie cutter templates" anyone :| -
@Alice i understand your point
-
@futoricky will look into it the next days
-
also a helpful tool is https://regexr.com

@irene can't recall exactly but he showed me some java code and asked me something like 'what does this do'. I went through it line by line and then summarized the purpose.
He wanted an other answer -
@C0D4 I'm currently evaluating alternatives. The for the link!
-
@C0D4 surprisingly, a relatively current one, they are just limiting access. Oh, and yes: you can have only one user per database whose permissions you can't set by yourself. it's just all messed up
-
@MurmeltierS *joins
-
@jonii they probably want you to make joints via '...WHERE table1.id = table2.id...'

.

i dont know about his IDE but if copy code out of Eclipse, the styling information gets copied aswell. still a dumb way to share code
-
@TRex belive me, there are a lot of people who call themselves Web Frontend Dev and can't point out the difference between a library and a framework :')
-
@cobolplz main point is: you really, really don't need jQuery (btw no framework) nor any framework to handle basic (or even non-rudimentary) DOM tasks. And if you are concerned about backwards compatibility you can always use a service like polyfill.io!
-
@gintko most of them probably aren't _working_ in the IT department, they _are_ the IT departmemt. No competition = no urge to develop new skills.
-
@Ratty and <title> is so to say "head-less" from now on?^^

but pleeeaaase don't use jquery. It was meant to standarize (DOM) functionality across Browsers. But now, with a very well standarized JS, there's absolutely no need to use jquery anymore.
Just using plain (vanilla) JS will do the job. (It's often times even easier to understand)
http://vanilla-js.com/ -
depends on your future use cases.
but i still vote for JS (Typescript) -
wrong attitude
-
@sathya741 I really am hoping you are joking...
-
@linuxxx would it be possible to redirect font.google.com to an according mirror or is ssl standing in the way?
-
"it just makes sense"
-
same
-
but how is this even possible? ho can you "accidentally" produce this shit formatting (in css)
-
