So if I say pickle Rick only once that means I'll get a girlfriend in 6 months? Damn... When I was single dating was a lot more difficult
-
Ok so now I'm confused... Am I real?
-
As I understand it the polymer app toolbox allows development for a fast progressive webapp with offline functionality. Maybe it isn't as fast as native apps but in my understanding ithe difference should be negligible.
I'm not sure how my superior wants to implement cross platform opengl rendering and PDF viewing, but I think they thought this step through for quite some time, so they should have found a way.
Since I'm just starting to get into polymer that stuff is too advanced for me, so I won't look for it now.
Also I don't really know what you mean with "sluggish" app? Just because it's JS it doesn't have to be sluggish... Or does it?
Maybe it's easier to drift in bad practice programming but I think it's possible to maintain a high quality with enough planning and care. -
Ours is a real app which requires app like features we can't simply do a Web interface (but want to maybe have such a version too If possible with polymer).
I don't exactly know the breaking point for that decision, but in our case we need offline capabilites and dynamic rendering stuff. I can't get into more details sadly but from my perspective it's the offline stuff which is our breaking point. If we'd have a Web interface it simply wouldn't do the job. I think... -
May I ask why? I mean we simply don't have the manpower to maintain native Android and IPhone apps, so cross platform was the only choice to deliver to the different user bases we have.

Silly professor. Return solves P vs NP Problem. That's common knowledge...
-
Hey cobal skills are really well paid when you work for a bank as consultant, so he's doing you a favor... In some way... Maybe...
-
As as soon as possible as possible.
Don't see anything wrong here 😂 -
Very interesting concept, didn't hear about it yet. Thanks for linking it I'll definitely give it a try :)

Given the history of the human race (which would be available for ai to analyze) I don't think they would give cyborgs a choice.
Humans have betrayed themselves for millenia, why risk to trust that unstable part human? -
Couldn't you just apply for a part time student position until graduation and then switch? Just explain to them that your current priority is you degree but you'd be happy to get some work experience and if everything goes well you could work full time after graduation.
Except if you think it would be maleficient to your grades. Then don't. -
Saw rant thought: oh that doesn't look so bad.
Clicked on more: the fuuuck? -
Me neither.. At this point I can't even distinguish what of the Apple fuckery is real and what not...

@billgates send it to him through an anonymous email address ;)

Yeah I have 8GB RAM too and sometimes Android studio freezes for minutes.
But to be fair Android Studio 3 Beta is on average faster than its predecessor.
It drives me crazy sometimes but I understand how it works in and out (90%) so it would be a bother switching it because of the occasional UI freeze. When you don't do anything crazy with it (like switching branches when gradle is running) it's pretty good.
Like I said, had to vent a little because otherwise I would have ranted in real life (which I did a little but not that much) and all the swear words would have been inappropriate xD -
@lo98be woah it's that serious? Be careful dude
-
Oh yeah and I had to repeat the procedure about 6-8 times because the project didn't build and I tried different Android studio versions and the whole thing froze multiple times.
Now it seems to work. Still had to blow some steam off to not punch my monitor. -
Just send them a link to a "let me Google that for you" site after seeing the error message. You'll help them but they will feel dumb after a while.
Or just send them the link to a SO post solving their issue instead of solving it on your own. I guarantee that after a while they won't ask you again.
At least that is how I git taught back in the days xD -
Please elaborate more on that "stuff that could get you to jail"?
-
@Hawkins oh no you're right. I don't use Linux much so that was my sad attempt to make a joke 😅
-
When an ai exists, which learns on basis of messages sent between 13 year old kids, this is how it will write new code.
I bet my hat on that!
PS: i don't have a hat... -
First sign the nsa is watching... 😉

"Bye dear colleagues I'll see you Monday 😊" -
I literally shivered with disgust...

@magis I don't think it's your typical "tabs vs spaces" thing.
Because whatever you use, you will have an indentation which equals 4 spaces.
2 is just ugly. As is 1. -
I currently have to comply with the standard of my senior dev who doesn't allow for any other indentation than 1 space.
Needless to say the code looks horrible. Also because he has other custom settings which are just terrifying... -
Dude just reschedule... Every person with a little bit of brain left would understand. Even better if they end up bitching about it, because you'd have dodged a bullet.
-
I code because... I literally am no good in anything else beside it. And even there I'm but an apprentice...

There is literally no difference between O(1) and O(2) or even O(1000) since they all are equal to O(1) (constants in O Form are reduced to 1).
There is however a difference between O(1) and O(n).
I can't explain it very well in English but Google O complexity and you will find the answer (if it interests you) -
May I ask what will be displayed on such a (beautiful) monstrosity?
