@M1sf3t you're probably right :) I mean it happens when we see eachother but its not alot of the time. I'm happy, shes happy and the important part is that my career is in no way affected so i guess i shouldn't sweat it. I probably just needed a place to vent

Over a 100 days battery life. I need thatbin my life right now. Especially since our country has loadshedding and puts electricity off 2 times a day for 2 hours each.. 😢

Apreciate the work that goes and went into the app. No need to bash on other languages as they all have their pro's and cons. This was built for us by a one of us. Support them :)

It doesnt matter. What ever is comfortable.

Wrong network? Is this a common thing - to do challenges like this? It scares me.

My confidence :(

People have the resources and with that should always strive for knowledge regardless. So learn what you want and apply yourself to help the community. You are your own competition. I wouldn't mind seeing a post where someone posts to use x because of y and just noone commenting. Noone upvoting. Noone downvoting. Just do Nothing

I actually made it log out memes from callbacks on success/errors a while back. The logs wasnt needed but the memes was at the time

For those asking about the tree, its 2 trees made with the fractal things i was working on a while back that i have yet to make more time for: https://devrant.com/rants/1641742/...

@ewpratten you noticed 😁👌
-
@devTea they probably thought i was looking for "A company" and not "company" -_-
-
@jespersh we stsrted sprint this week. Did some planning and asked this question thank you. Gave her some time to go through the things andnat the end of the day she gave a better idea of what she might need more time on or might need help with but a better indication of what she will be fine with in the week. Ill still be around and be avail where needed. Thank you!
-
It shouldnt be something that should prevent you from being productive. If there is a standard in your company to stick to. Do so, else find a preference and setup your environment to handle it for you. That question will invoke too many split and biased preferences.
-
@Awlex yup, i am planning to put my fractral tree in this space and have to get use to using java while doing this first. The tree originally was too but modified it to make it more realistic and it helped get an idea of what approach to take to do leaves ect.
-
Yes! I wish i had more time. I really am excited to follow this. The only time i get to spend will lead to prototypes :( - make us harmless devs proud!
-
@just8littleBit will be looking to get something im version control from tomorrow as i need to finish the port to the library but it will probably be on bitBucket, havent used github in a while.
-
@Midnigh-shcode this was for debugging and its unfortunate it os rendered like this but essentially ill be using more native labgues to render this so then you can sleep easy while i dig a hole trying the above 😌 haha
-
@Root im working on a perlin noise generated land for the scene in which the new instances of trees will grow against. Eventually it would have animated through life and have leavea and drop seeds and die and a new tree grow amd all of this could all work well together
-
I am going to investigate this and if it seems like a fun thing to look into. Ill start a project and mayne we can collab or who ever wants to be involved :) i am on this Math high at the moment 🙈
-
@Orni i love this idea, we should consider making and looking into this as a project. I always wanted to see what goes into it like the live screen savers app on steam. Maybe even use theirs and see if we can do things based off time and not have to reinvent things
-
@ewpratten Wallpaper generated for you and for who ever wants, off to code and thanks for the positive feedback @all,

Keeping track of the branches becomes a hastle :( buuut nothing a whole weekend and no sleep cant fix (curls into a ball)
-
@nin0x03 too many Vectors 🙈 will probably rewrite this at some point using a lower level language and then take advantage of the hardware hardware Or i can be anal and just refactor and spend hours trying to fix performances om canvas (which i know ill probably do anyway being a JS fanboy by heart, here i come WebGL😔)
-
@Ganofins JavaScript + Canvas + Wikipedia 😁, follow the process, i have a second version but planning on making a project with this after i find a library (too much typing currently -_-) but ill open-source it once I feel ill get managable hate from the online community about my code 🙈
-
This is a concept i want to finish this week. Rendef in a 3D space and then procedurally generate trees on a procedurally generated land (here i will research and look into Perlin noise by Ken perlin) to get a organic and natural looking plane made for games or just good visuals :)
-
Regarding tutorial. I researched into factorials and how fractal trees look. Concept was making a constructor that draws a line given two points (i chose center bottom and center bottom - 100px) and then finds the end point of the line and make 2 new instances passing the new starting point being the end of where the prev ended and rotating aroudn PI to get random degrees between about 40 -60 degress and then just make a method to render a certain ammount to canvas
In the end its very resource hungry so loads of fixing buuut i will re write it on its own using a library (need to research which will be best) and then post the code for you all to olay around with.
*some library names will be apreciated for canvas engines* -
@ewpratten i will make a wallpaper and pin it here. Have to continue with it later, will make one before i break the code 😂
-
@nin0x03 I love the name "Fractal Forest" 😍 thinking about it. Hopefully it all goes smooth but going to have a go at making the trrs go through lifecycle, fruit, seeds and then more trees 😊. Wish me luck!

@dalastTomCruise i sat in the meeting and the one dev that was in the interview with me. Well after thr meeting he asked how long ive been here and i told him about 7 months, he was like we can work together now (and im thinking this is probably the guy that said "no" to me joining). But im bigger than that. Ill do what i get paid to do and they can think what they like 👍 lol

@b3b3 was in a podcast with web developers. They start with a joke and this was the 1st or second podcast called Shoptalk. And they used JavaScript.
