You seem to be having issues with your drivers, Windows 10 tends to be idiotic sometimes at taking the drivers on its own, also, on Linux you shouldn't notice any difference at all on Valve games, Google it, so again it seems to be driver related. Probably for your laptop, the most optimised drivers are the Win 7 ones.

@BungleFunk well....yes....I mean you're not gonna use this.globalVar to identify a global variable if you don't have a local one with the same name, that's where it greys out, if stylecop tells you to put "this." when not needed it means yours is badly configured.
