I'll be your replacement in your current company. Send me the career page!
-
Guys, I know I should find a new job but I need to be stable for my family for a few months, especially in this so called tech winter period
-
Well this is quite reassuring haha. How many the upvote-downvote count so far?
-
@cuddlyogre Yeah, I'm just naive thinking I can grow more than just javascript in the company.
-
@awigotsky wow, you should run as fast as you can. Good company usually have career path for their employees and tell them what criteria you should get to climb the ladder, or you ou can ask if the information is not provided. 5 years without promotion and same salary? Man, inflation is eating your money everyday.

Start using utc and encourage others to do the same.

I remember some tools to compare images in python, but it was 2 years ago, never touched them since then. You can try searching it.
-
I think not. You just have to master your current project at the company, know every inch of it, and be able to communicate passionately with other teams about it.
-
He's a good one tbh. We had intern and new guy who will just write anything carelessly without reading docs or asking the person who develop the the feature first.
-
Software architect is anything but an insult to sr engineer, as if the senior can't decide which tech stack is the best for the company.
-
@mikeRanting yeah, company always do this to unpaid internship though.
-
@PonySlaystation that's my point. If I get paid the same amount they get, I would be more than happy doing it. But for now, I need money to survive. I can always volunteer in an NGO for more meaningful work.
-
@horus Yup, I would respect them more if they were being honest about it. Or at least, pay me more and I'll be glad hearing that bullshit everytime lol.
-
@azuredivay money definitely is a valid reason, none would work in the company if the only pay they get is "thank you for being helpful company member, you are making impact in our community."
You can have different reason to work, but business is business. Business is there to make money, any societal impact is just a side effect. -
Have you heard about tauri? It's way more better concept
-
@horus the last sentence got me lol. Masturbate a lot.
-
Young blood and naive. Prepare for the worst mate.
-
@kwilliams I agree the second paragraph. I'm just a little tired looking into the same code for 12+ hours in the past 3 days, thus the rant.
For the first one, my changes were refactoring core components like form and its fields, and modal. The other dev just happened to use those old components with their hacky way in their changes, forcing me to rethink again about what other possibilities people may do when using the components, so I have to come with better idea while resolving the conflict. -
@Nanos moving to another country is not an option people can take easily, especially the one with weak passport from developing nation.
-
@Oktokolo in an ideal condition, people will have awareness because I've been talking about this in every stand up in the past 3 days. But we're talking about junior intern here, can't be mad at them. And also, this is my manager first experience as a manager. So yeah.
-
Good luck lol
