-
@rantbook hahahaha tbh it looks a lot like my living room :D
-
@rantbook wtf :D
-
VIM is life.
-
Great joke on context recognition :D
-
Python for prototyping and getting funding, c++ for re-write and scaling. Best combo
-
Mathematics... but thats just coding in a different language :D
-
2 ? :D
-
@FrodoSwaggins yeah man. Literally mu fucking fingernails are evening out after a vim sess on one of the new macbook pros :x
-
Hahahaha love the replies. Thought it was only me. If you look at it for a long time on a non-glare screen the corners of my screen get a little darkened by the natural contrast of the bluesg background...love it !
-
@AleCx04 thanks for the quick reply and for the good advise, I am actually familiar with Python since I have created a Text Summarisaton platform with it and Django. I was suggested to complete the linear algebra course by mit opencourseware and then their statistics course in order to get data analytics, but my true passion (and the essence or my question) was what sort of mathematics would I need to be able to read through all the newly released white papers in the field of AI and ML ? ... thanks again
P.S.
Programming is no problem whatsoever since i have been doing it since i was 10, but i am worried about the math part :/ -
If you havent, try oit SF Mono with a very dark theme
-
Define your types not var!!
-
I fully agree I do the same, but when changing one control variable requires you to run 60 regreassions of which 40 fail for no apparenr reason and you have to change line or two in each .... fuck that... anyway thats why we are getting paid i guess
-
Yeah get a graduate to maintain a legacy c++ infrastructure with no experience...why not :D
-
Absolutely agree man. Manjaro feels like a dream after an 8 hour work day with shitty win10 and the only win access is through terminal :(
-
@RantSomeWhere thanks for the quick but I have already checked out this book and it was really really basic at the start (i.e. there was just one calculator project and no assembly what so ever for comparing performance)
-
@AlgoRythm It is my first language... and yes I did fail because i started with it when I was 11 :D. The path led me through Java Python and (unfortunately) PHP and now finally I can learn a bit more about how computers work with C++, rather than import x x.solveProblem()...
-
I have been through TheCherno tutorials and through a couple of CppCon Talks, but I was thinking of something like pet projects that develop the pointer thinking...
-
@FrodoSwaggins + if you are writting C++, adding void will make the func compatible with C compilers. At least thats what SO says
-
@FrodoSwaggins
Hey man I am 21 and currently catching up to speed with c++14 for my new job and wanted to know whether putting void in case of empty parameter list gives you any performance advantage or is it just for readability? -
I personaly am used to object oriented code and the transition will not be that hard, but I need practice in pointers :D
-
Thanks for all of the responses guys, I tried it and I loved it, but I am using KDevelop at the moment. If you have any oppinions on it pls do share since I am new to the IDE
-
My company has a strictly open source suit it should be Codealite or Vim :/
-
Hey, man I am looking for a good Cpp editor in Linux which I think VSCode is available for. Can you please share your confoguration amd send a screenshot if possible. Thanks in advance
-
:D
-
P.S. Any tips for transition from Java - cpp would be useful as well
-
I swear devrant is so helpful sometimes. I had an existensial crisis earlier today after messing up my third interview :D
-
I never even had the chance to have a face to face interview with a technical person :(
