Hello guys, what do you think about Tim Berners-Lee's attempt to decentralize the web? Will Solid be the future of web app development or will it just vanish ?10
I was thinking about writing a poem generator as a project to have some fun, and I thought about using machine learning to do that. But before diving into it I tried to implement a very simple and basic one, that just throws random words. Most of them were meaningless, but some made sense... Who said randomness and chaos can never generate harmony ? B-)17
Two days ago I decided to fully upgrade my linux system. Everything used to work normally, but after the upgrade the os always freezes on boot. Apparently it's because of the graphic card (nvidia) and even after installing the driver and trying so many things it still doesnt work. It's been two days trying to fix it and no luck yet. What a lucky weekend 😂9
Instead of giving exams at the end of the course, make the courses project based. Most cmps students at my university only memorize information (and even memorize code) just to get a grade, but if instead they had to present a project at the end of the semester they would learn much more and have more experience2
A man flying in a hot air balloon suddenly realizes he’s lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts to get directions, "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"
The man below says: "Yes. You're in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field."
"You must work in Information Technology," says the balloonist.
"I do" replies the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," says the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but It's of no use to anyone."
The man below replies, "You must work in management."
"I do," replies the balloonist, *"But how'd you know?"**
"Well", says the man, "you don’t know where you are or where you’re going, but you expect me to be able to help. You’re in the same position you were before we met, but now it’s my fault."2
