I have been using Ubuntu for about 3 years now. In this time I've tried switching to Nvidia drivers about 10 times - tested drivers. And I swear to god, fuck you Nvidia because it has never worked. Trust the good old drivers and don't ever use Nvidia drivers.

Spot on man!
-
@C0D4 ah a man of culture.!
-
@AlexDeLarge You can try Gravit designer. I recently used it to make logo for my music app. It doesn't support animation yet though but is otherwise pretty good.
-
I would actually like that.
-
@th3-c0d3r the official guide is really extensive and the best. Apart from that ostechnix has a good article.
-
If you don't have a life - arch Linux.
Lol just kidding.
If you want latest releases and want to boot quickly - arch is what I would suggest. I'm currently using Ubuntu but I'll soon move as I want to improve my boot times and AUR is great. You can find almost any package you would need there. -
sma.li?

For me android studio works fine on my personal laptop. The problem was windows. I switched to Linux and now it works great. Also if you hate it , I've seen devs develop in Sublime text and use command line to build. Gradle is pretty great to do this.

I had an experience that I'm still unable to explain - a work friend and I were discussing an app on her phone( clothing app) . We chatted for some time too but the app name was never mentioned. Mind you I don't use clothing apps. That night while browsing 9gag I notice an ad for that app.
Now I don't know what kind of network they have built, but this was another level. It can be a coincidence or not. I vaguely remember seeing an article where they targeted even your friends accounts + hacks and breaches to do the same thing. -
Haha one person's (Google) loss is another person
's project idea :P -
Hey man. Sorry for your experience. I participated in smart India hackathon last year and my experience was pretty good. The judges were smart ( yeah they actually had technical knowledge and gave us good advice ) . But I know my experience was a random chance. My friends had an experience similar to yours. It depends on the ministry you are in and the place. I was in Delhi so I guess that was an advantage. Also this was my only good hackathon experience 😂. Others have been shit judges like this. Oh and not to brag but me and my friend coded for straight 30 freaking hours. Believe me the experience you just had you will remember this time with your friends.

Damn that screen is shiny!
-
@sunfishcc man it's about 15k INR. That's way out of my budget haha. Man why is everything so costly in India. I'd rather go for G213(cost is 4k INR ).
-
Happened to me once. I was sleep-deprived and moved my bottle from one place to another. And then stood there screaming "Undo! Undo! Why won't you move back?? Ahhh! Oh wait!" and then I realized and went straight to sleep.
-
I don't have the money for cherry mx, so I was thinking of buying logitech g213, any ideas about it?
-
@devrocket Same.
-
@kamen i have ATX m40x and they can pretty much block even the people talking beside you ( provided that the music is playing)
-
@zubin10 definitely this sentiment is more echoed.
-
I have ATH M40X and it's also the best money on headphones I ever spent. They are so damn good and blocking the world out and letting me code in peace.
-
@heyheni is it available on windows? I don't see releases on GitHub and it says coming soon for windows on their site.
-
Just tested that on note 8 and it's working man. It's asking if you want to save it or discard it. Also if you close the app it toasts that the note was saved.
-
Once in a while somebody finds them and is like - woah!
-
Well I found the Mr. Robot soundtrack on Spotify today and by god - it's a great playlist to code ( or hack)
-
@gitlab I believe it really depends on the laptop. From my previous WiFi driver research I found that my HP laptop hardware is optimised for windows. So I'm guessing that's why my Ubuntu sucks so much when it comes to battery. But as I said before - no regrets - android studio starts in 10 seconds on a good day and max 15-20 seconds . I consider that a win over 25 minute on windows.
-
Already did. That's why it's 2 hours now. Earlier was 1.5 hrs
-
Can confirm the battery problem. With windows it was 6 hours, with Ubuntu it's like 2 hours now. But no regrets. Fuck you windows.
-
@tbodt hype?
-
@tbodt It's done. Cloudflare SSL was always stuck on initializing state. So I moved to Netlify and in one hour my blog is secure with HTTPS SSL. I love that green padlock.
-
Oh wait. It works now. But things are still shitty..Why?
