@dfox, aye, stories are good. There are times though where you want to read the shorter rants.
I downvote when I see them (as not for me), but the amount is beginning to increase a lot, and they get a lot more upvotes than actual rants.
It may be more users, but it's a different class of users. I've seen it on other services (xda) where quantity beats out quality. -

Php, bringing the worst out of everyone since <can't be bothered to check when php came out>
-
@viking8, you can go into bios and flip fn and ctrl
-
@bottswana, touche. I can't find anything on encryption support for kirin based devices.
-
@strider, I think so, but they seem to get offended when I call them "normals"
-
@hexacore, yeah. Don't.
-
I once had a teacher send out exercises using publisher files.
No one has publisher. I used to be stuck converting it to pdf for everyone. -
Seriously?
I've repeatedly included snide remarks about the culture of hiring inexperienced students. Now we know why they actually pass. -
@probE466, that is true. I started at ie9, but now on ie10+. The hurdle for us is safari
-
@CodeMasterAlex, I agree, going through a syllabus does give you a good background.
My dig about graduate hires is the whole mentality of even the dregs of uni students who have no experience are held in higher regard than someone who never went to uni but has 10+ years of experience -
You forgot Opera Mini
-
@anup-dhabarde yes. This lets you manage different versions of python, as apposed to different working environments.
Good for testing libraries. -
As a python developer, I frown upon javascript.
However, gulp is nice. It make sense and doesn't try to hide stuff. That's python to me. -
@philcr, I hear you
-
Yeah, we don't hate because we're Linux users. We hate because it's legitimately a bad operating system.
We had to decommission laptops with last gen i3s + 8gb ram. All the users do is web browse and use office. The start menu lags! Everything lags!
So don't give me some crap about hating on windows because I'm a Linux user. -
Use 2-factor
-
Most locked bootloaders prevent you from flashing full stop. You shouldn't have been able to do this. Shows how messed up Samsung are

from __future__ import division

The first is py2, the 2nd is Py3. Yes, it's a pits -
So you do perl?
-
I don't get why you're shocked.
We remove cortana because it's clutter on the task bar.
People will want to know how to disable Windows defender when they install their own antivirus.
I don't know what xbox 'dv' is.
Anylne that is actually concerned wouldn't be using Windows in the first place. -
@jjhiza, everyone maintains their own area. Some are worse than others. But there are places to vent. I think having that closed off area for like minded people to talk helps them through (we use slack internally).
The bigger devices, RC's help with the more repetitive questions. They do that off their own back, so hats off to them.
As for me personally, I act as team support behind the scenes. Got out of the public nearly 2 years ago. But there are certain things that are rage inducing (repetition, attitudes to security [cough, Substratum/Lineage]) -
@jjhiza, "hur dur, I'm a spoilt brat. Do everything for me!"
-
Messing with the phone's software is not something for typical people. I'm against all this hand holding for them, because it nearly always ends up like this.
That being said, it is hard to navigate XDA sometimes, and it is known to the powers at be. -
@Smudge, even my grandparents know what tabs are.
What really throws people off is that you can pop tabs in and out of different windows ;) -
@kpenc, heh, I have that case
-
I always allocate 20gb to my system, and always end up with 15gb spare.
Linux master race 😁 -
What you've done here is identified the one correct thing in a sea of bugs as a bug, and all the bugs as working features.
They're all driving on the wrong side of the road! -
@Neotelos, the timings are from AOSP. SlimRoms is working on optimisations on top of what Google has done, and introducing our own framework
-
@modislaszlo, those timings were from the Android settings app
